EYELID PROBLEMS
How important are the eyelids?
The eyelids essentially assume a protective function of the eyeball. The anterior pole of the eye, especially the cornea, needs to be in the best possible condition to perform its function properly.
What is a bad position of the eyelids?
An alteration in the position of the eyelids outward (ectropion) or inward (entropion) can lead to an alteration of the ocular surface and condition irritation or tearing by exposure or by rubbing the eyelashes on the cornea.
What treatment exists for ectropion / entropion?
The treatment is aimed at improving the position and function of the eyelid, as well as the state of the ocular surface, which sometimes and depending on the severity may require surgery performed with local anesthesia. In any case, it must be explored and evaluated by your specialist doctor to be able to advise the best option.

BLEPHAROPLASTY
What is blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty is a surgical technique to reduce the skin of the eyelids and eye bags.
Results that can be expected.
Nowadays very good results are achieved both functionally and aesthetically.
How it is performed?
It is usually done with local anesthesia and on an outpatient basis. The upper eyelid surgery is performed through an incision along the eyelid fold, avoiding visible scars. The lower eyelid surgery to reduce the bags can be performed through an internal incision through the conjunctiva without scarring if there is no large excess skin. If there is, an external skin incision can be made following the natural lines of the eyelid below the eyelashes.
